Katherine J. Ayers, M.d. Joins South Shore Skin Center

 South Shore Skin Center is one of Massachusetts' most progressive dermatology practices offering a wide range of medical, surgical and cosmetic services to thousands of patients south of Boston.

Dr. Ayers will treat both medical and cosmetic patients at South Shore Skin Center.  Her cosmetics practice will include Botox, Fillers and laser treatments. 

In addition to caring for patients at South Shore Skin Center, Dr. Ayers is on the Associate Staff of Jordan Hospital in Plymouth and the Affiliate Staff of South Shore Hospital in Weymouth.  She is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and a member of the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery: Massachusetts Medical Society; the American Medical Women's Association; the American Medical Association and the Iowa Dermatological Society. 

Dr. Ayers graduated from University of Massachusetts Medical School in Worcester and went on to serve as a resident in Dermatology at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, which is one of the nation's premier institutions for dermatology training. 

Caring for people is a family business for Dr. Ayers. Both her father, Frederick Ayers, and one of her brothers, Michael Ayers are orthopedic surgeons at South Shore Hospital in Weymouth. Her other brother, Timothy Ayers, is an Anesthesiologist at both Jordan Hospital in Plymouth and Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton. Her sister is a nurse midwife and her mother is a nurse.
